theatre
artist controlled theatrics group theatre is an underground ensemble run by independent artists.
this theater ensemble takes the shape of a wild garden, weathering the constant storms of industry and commerce that so often lead to compromise. as it is widely known, los angeles is celebrated for the imagination it cultivates, yet there is no better place to confront the consequences of its corporatization than at the heart of it, hollywood. this group aims to mirror los angeles back to itself through revived and orginal stories, for who better to reflect the parents back to themselves than their children?
what you will see these 6 evenings is dedication to the process, devotion to the craft, and the beginning of an ongoing effort to reinterpret theater for the next generation of audiences. we are moving towards this future with or without your help but with your generosity and support, we are given something increasingly rare: time. time to work honestly, to gather, and to continue harvesting the real of what remains in this city.
thank you to our friends and patrons who have supported us thus far, who have given us space and time to experiment, and enabled us to keep the process “artist controlled.”
this is dedicated to everyone willing to risk bringing the invisible into the visible…
but to what end?
